British Queen celebrates

Russian former Formula One driver Nikita Mazepin is taking legal action against the UK government in the High Court over sanctions imposed on him and his father Dmitry Mazepin, a Russian

businessman, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Mazepin was sacked by the Haas Formula One team after the invasion.

Mazepin is also involved in a similar legal bid to have sanctions lifted in Canada. The case was heard in a preliminary hearing in London, with a judge set to oversee another hearing in June. Mazepin's legal team argued that the sanctions have effectively ended his racing career, with no Formula One team willing to take him on as a test, reserve, or full driver.
