A well-known gift store in Oxford’s Westgate shopping centre has officially closed its doors—and a replacement is already moving in.
Located in the heart of the city, Westgate is home to a wide range of major retailers, including Primark, Next, and TK Maxx. Until recently, Menkind was among them—a favorite destination for quirky gifts and gadgets, popular with both adults and children.
Menkind, previously located on the middle level next to Superdrug and ProCook, has now shut down.
The store, which opened in November 2021 following a major renovation of the shopping centre, offered everything from Pop Funko figures and remote-controlled toys to novelty lights and board games. It was a go-to spot for birthday and holiday shopping, especially during busy weekends.
At the time of its launch, a spokesperson said: “Menkind is now open at Westgate Oxford. It’s the place to go for fun gifts, the latest tech products and accessories. You’re sure to find excellent Christmas gifts here.”
Now, the former Menkind space is undergoing a transformation. Its storefront has been covered with Superdrug-branded signage, signaling an expansion or renovation of the neighboring store.
