British Queen celebrates

David Bowie's handwritten lyrics for two of his songs are set to be auctioned off, potentially fetching up to £100,000. These lyrics, featuring his corrections, drafts, and notes, belong to the

songs "Rock n Roll Suicide" and "Suffragette City," both part of Bowie's 1972 album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars."

Previously, the auction house had sold a page of Bowie's handwritten lyrics for his song "Starman" for £165,000. Accompanying this newly auctioned lyric sheet is a letter stating it was given to the original owner by Bowie at Trident Studio, along with some additional original lyric pages, some of which didn't survive.

Bowie's legacy extends beyond his handwritten lyrics; the auction includes a lyric book previously owned by Oasis' Noel Gallagher, featuring lyrics to several songs. Additionally, there's a page containing handwritten lyrics by The Doors' frontman, Jim Morrison, among other items like guitars, amps, and musical scores from various musicians.

The estimated price for Bowie's lyric sheet ranges from £50,000 to £100,000. These items will be part of Omega Auctions' upcoming sale on Tuesday. Photo by Adam Bielawski, Wikimedia commons.
