British Queen celebrates

In a refreshing and candid revelation, Joyce Jackman, a remarkable 102-year-old woman from Essex, shared her secret to living a fulfilling and lengthy life—good sex.

Celebrating her birthday on May 9, Joyce attributed her century-long journey to the joys of passionate intimacy and a love for good sherry.

Residing at Care UK's Silversprings in Thorrington, Joyce expressed her gratitude to the care home staff, who surprised her with a birthday cake. Her family joined the celebration, making her special day even more memorable. Reluctant for the festivities to end, the spirited centenarian savored every moment.

Joyce, who worked as an RAF chef during World War Two, initially found employment in a sweet shop. In 1945, she married her childhood sweetheart, Terence Jackman, shortly after the war's conclusion. Though they didn't have children of their own, Joyce took pleasure in caring for the children in her neighborhood, as well as baking with her mother and spending time with friends.

At Silversprings, Joyce remains mentally engaged through regular crossword puzzles and stays up-to-date by reading the daily newspaper. She also indulges in one of her guilty pleasures—chocolate.

Joanne Rix, the Home Manager at Silversprings, expressed admiration for Joyce's sense of humor and outlook on life. The care home aims to support residents in leading fulfilling lives, and celebrating special occasions like birthdays holds great importance. Rix and the staff were honored to raise a glass of sherry to Joyce's remarkable journey and feel privileged to have her as part of their Silversprings family.

Joyce's revelation follows the remarkable story of Dr. Gladys McGarey, another centenarian who continues to embrace life with a focus on the future. Dr. McGarey, known as the mother of holistic medicine, authored a book titled "The Well-Lived Life: A 102-Year-Old Doctor's Six Secrets to Health and Happiness at Every Age." Her tips for longevity include daily physical activity, knitting, listening to audiobooks, and nurturing social connections.

As these extraordinary individuals provide insight into their secrets for a long and fulfilling life, they inspire us all to live each day to the fullest. Photo by Care UK / SWNS.
